I am a child of the 80s and enjoy all kinds of movies, television shows, going to live concerts and sporting events, and even the occasion LEGO build. While this blog will center around my travel and half marathon races, I would like my POP! Culture amusements to be displayed. Whether its a trip to do ax throwing, going to see Alanis Morissette live, attending a food truck or craft beer or film festival, or producing a movie marathon commentary of Bill & Ted’s Excellent and Bogus Adventure to prepare for the release of the third film later this summer or my attempt to watch and comment on every episode of Star Trek: TNG or American Dad, or even documenting a LEGO build…I will blog about it and bring you along for the ride.
In many ways, this category is a hodgepodge part of my blog that acts as an opportunity to dive into topics other than travel and history. At the same time, those events, too, may make an appearance. It is a little undefined and will allow me to branch out in the world of POP! Culture, at least regarding the things that speak to me. In the end, these musings provide me the opportunity to do what I love most, tell a story. A story of my LEGO build, my take on a genre of film, my story of a past holiday, and more can find a powerful embrace under this category. For example: my brother and I do a weekly movie rewatch and then discuss it in person. I may post about the film we selected and some of our “interesting” thoughts, and conclusions. I may discuss my thoughts on Halloweens I have experienced and the costumes, parties, and movies that construct that lived narrative. This type of post mixes both history, POP! Culture, and my “wicked travels” through life. Not every travel experience includes a destination. Suppose you enjoy movies, entertainment, and reading about overall POP! Culture fandom, then you are in the right place.
